Whether pruning a bloodline in dogs and horses, or directing behaviors in their offspring, the aristocrat's position demanded constant self-refinement to presumedly support their importance.
My mother was a well-trained noble, and as described in this essay, she too looked upon her loss of homeland, family, title, and love of life, with an unfortunate bitter sadness.
